Ragnar Relay Wasatch Back

Well, we survived the Ragnar Relay (barely) and I have to say that it was quite an experience (the good with the bad). First of all, let me explain what a Ragnar Relay is. Think of it as a 188-mile party with your friends (or family, in my case). So we started in Logan, Utah and ran 188 miles to Park City! Can you hear the words that are coming out of my mouth?......I said 188 miles!!! Okay, I didn't run all of it myself but I did contribute 18 miles (a grueling 18 miles I might add) and losing one of my toenails was not the only souvenir I have. It was definitely fun and hard! Besides the 2128 foot elevation drop I made during one of my legs of the race (the cause of my missing toenail), the hardest part about the race was the sleep deprivation. We started the race at 8:00a.m Friday morning and finished the race on Saturday at 4:00p.m. and during that 32-hour period we got a whopping 1.5 hours of sleep! All in all it was a fun experience and we were voted "Most Favorite Team" by all the other 550 teams involved. We were quite a site to see as we came marching into the start of the race dressed like hillbillies to go with our team's name, "Scipio Hog-Callin' Time Runners", playing our jug-band instruments, and singing our best hillbilly tunes. We got everyone's attention real quick! For a good laugh, click here: http://www.vimeo.com/5469340
These are my in-laws, by the way, so don't judge! I'm totally kidding! I LOVE Brandon's family! ;-)

Run, Forrest, Run!

We did it!

Jug band style!

Our stylish cars! What? It's an acronym for our team!

Chris, the funniest guy ever! (Those are fake teeth in case you're wondering!)

Kylie (my sister-in-law) and me!

The whole fam damily!

Kylie made some new friends--a team we met who wore huge bras over their clothes as they ran. There were some pretty funny teams!

Father's Day 2009

We had a nice Father's Day this year. We spent it in Salt Lake, recovering from our relay race (I couldn't walk the next day). We are so lucky to have such an awesome dad. Our kids adore their daddy and tackle him when he walks in the door from work each day. He takes such good care of us and we love him so much. Here are 8 reasons (in Brenna's own words) why we love our daddy. Happy Father's Day!

1. He gives us money so mommy can get good stuff.
2. He makes up funny songs and plays his guitar.
3. He swims with us.
4. He's handsome like grandpa.
5. He plays with us and flips us over his head.
6. He reads books to us.
7. He watches "Ghost Busters" with me and protects me.
8. He loves us.

Here we are on Father's Day.

The entire Bluhm family was together that day!

Daddy with his new babies.

Bathtime with daddy!

We love it when daddy flips us!

Daddy reads to us!

It wouldn't be right if we didn't recognize the amazing grandpas in our lives. We are so lucky to have the best grandpas in the world! We love you, grandpa Bluhm and grandpa Lauritzen!

Anniversary Getaway

We went up to Park City to run a race (pictures pending) and then afterwards we stayed a few days for our anniversary. It was so nice to spend some time together and reconnect sans kids. Brandon's parents (and sister) were so nice to watch our kids so we could escape. We had a blast mountain biking in Deer Valley, shopping on Main Street, riding the Alpine Slide, roller coaster, and zip-line.

Five Years and Still Going Strong!

Who would have thought that this little boy....

Brandon always supported me in my dance career. I dedicated a dance to him called "You Raise Me Up".

Brandon proposed to me at the Magic Castle (where we had one of our first dates).

Our wedding day (the happiest day of my life!)

Brandon wrote me a song and sang it at our reception, which was how he nabbed me in the first place. He wrote me a song while we were dating and sang it to me. I was putty in his hands!

As you can see, we've done quite a lot in the past five years. It has been an amazing journey and I'm so glad to have had Brandon by my side through it all. I couldn't ask for a better husband and father to our children. I love you more than the day I married you! I can't wait to see what the next five years brings us.
