THE Kitty Party

So, my family members (who will remain nameless--but their name rhymes with Shmemily) have made fun of me (and disowned me) for throwing a kitty party but I couldn't help it.....this was Brenna's dream party! ;-) She wants a kitty so bad but knows that mommy and daddy are allergic. She once asked me, "When daddy dies, can we get a cat?" Haha! Anyways, this was a pretty fun party. Brenna was in heaven.

The cupcakes were a brownie layer on the bottom and strawberry cake on top. Yum.

As the guests arrived, they chose kitty ears and we painted faces. The girls were cats and the boys were dogs.

The kids got to "adopt" a stuffed animal kitty to take home (the boys got a dog). They chose a name and got an adoption certificate.

Then they made collars for their kitties with beads, bells, and elastic.

The 1st game...."Cat and Mouse"

Each person gets a mouse on a string. The "cat" rolls a dice and when it lands on 1 or 5, the kids have to pull their mice away before the cat traps them with a lid. The kids LOVED this!!!

The 2nd game..."Lap it Up"

The first "kitty" to lap up all their (chocolate) milk won! Another crowd pleaser. Even more fun to watch....hilarious actually. ;-)

Happy Birthday, Brenna!

I can't believe my baby girl is SIX!!!!! Where did time go? I feel so honored to be Brenna's mom. She is sweet, funny, talented, smart, silly, and beautiful. She has brought so much joy into our lives since she made her appearance six years ago (a month early, I might add). She has become such a mature, helpful, and kind girl. She loves to help mommy cook and clean and take care of her baby sister, Eva. She loves to play with Ethan...and tease him too. She LOVES to read, listen to her MP3 player, dance, and sing. She is such a sweetie!

I took cupcakes into her class the Friday before her birthday.

The Nutcracker Ballet

Brenna and I had a wonderful time at the Nutcracker Ballet. This is the 4th time we've seen it together. I've been taking her to see the Nutcracker since she was two! It's our little tradition. Yay for beautiful ballerinas (and men in tights?).

I've given her a nutcracker doll every year we've gone to the ballet.

Happy 4th Birthday Ethan!!!

I can't believe my baby boy is 4 years old! He woke up to a yummy french toast breakfast with homemade syrup. Of course, he ate on our traditional birthday plate. It was fun to have family in town. They helped me a ton to throw a Superhero birthday party for Ethan and 9 of his Superhero friends. We had an obstacle course and we played "Diffuse the Bombs". I didn't get a picture of this game but we dumped black balloons on the floor and the kids had to pick up all the balloons and put them outside in a basket before they blew up. We also had a visit from the villain (daddy), who got beat up by all the Superheroes (literally). It was so fun!
